I don't know if it was stinking hot in Cairns last night, but the rain was torrential. A real tropical downpour. It was a game of slideball, rather than football. Saints were leading all night until the last five minutes. :( In their defence, the conditions were terrible and there were very few senior players in the team - mostly the second-stringers and rookies. There were a lot of promising signs, but it was really difficult to judge properly because of the rain - not at all conducive to showing off skills.
So, that's it for the pre-season comp. I'll have to wait for the real season to start now.
