A MINI earthquake shook beds, chairs and tables as it rumbled across Melbourne this afternoon.
Residents heard a sound like muffled thunder and felt a tremor that rattled doors and furniture for several seconds from about 1.30pm.
Homeowners in Northcote, Rowville, Canterbury, Ringwood, Croydon Hills, Lilydale and as far away as Bunyip reported movement.
The tremor registered 3.5 to 4 on the richter scale.
Its centre was 15km north-east of Dandenong.

I never felt an earthquake til I lived in Japan. Then I felt every kind imaginable! Up and down, sideways, rolling...it was a trip!
They have real ones there!
