This story begins about 30 years ago when I hooked up with G-Man who was, or so I thought, the love of my life. About 12 years ago I left him because he was screwing someone else as well. Bugger that, I'm outta here. Anyway, the other woman, K, promptly moved in with him and they had a child, B, together a year later. I'm good friends with G-Man now and K and I tolerate each other - we move in the same social circles so contact is unavoidable. L, who owns this shop and the house I live in now, is G-Man's best friend and also has a bit of a history with K.
Anyway, last night K turned up at our house and announced that she'd left G-Man and B. She's had some mental health issues lately that I heard about but thought were being exaggerated. No exaggeration at all. The woman's lost the plot. She proceeded to get very drunk and ranted and raved about everything under the sun. And the hypochondria - man, i've never heard anything like it. It's a wonder she can do anything at all 'cos there's everything that's conceivably possible wrong with her. She had a shopping bag full of pills and stuff with her. Only one set was prescription stuff - the rest was vitamins, berocca, etc - harmless stuff that can be got over the counter at the chemist.
Meanwhile, young O'H, who also lives in the house, had locked herself out of her room. So we had to break into it from the outside. Poor kid was already freaked out by the shenanigans going on around her - I think she was almost ready to run home to her mother.
I eventually decided that it was safe to go to bed. I organised a mattress and sleeping bag on the loungeroom floor for K. She put a DVD on to watch and so I left her to it. I think she spent all night on the phone to various people, ranting away to whoever would listen. She even rang L's offshore workplace early this morning because she couldn't find a towel. L was home, upstairs in bed.
This morning I got up and she wanted to go home. Fine, I said, I'll give you a lift. But, because L had left his trailer in my parking spot I'd had to park in the driveway. O'H had parked behind me and L had parked behind her. So I had to move their vehicles before I could get out. But, L's keys were nowhere to be found. He eventually got up (he'd had a big night out on the town) and cars were moved.
So I drove K home - didn't even get a thank-you I might add. G-Man needed a lift to work so from there I drove him to his work. So I finally got to the shop half an hour late.
If it was a soap opera script it'd be canned for being too unbelievable. I'm not really sure what's going on myself. No-one will believe that she left G-Man and ended up being watched over by me - that's just too bizarre.
Anyway, she's home now. I don't know if she's going to stay there or whether she'll turn up at our place again tonight. It's kinda sad really, 'cos she's alienated just about all her friends with her weirdo behaviour.
It's been a bizarre 24 hours, to say the least.

All those letters...I was lost LOL!
What's berocca?
Don't you just love days/nights like that....not.
Hope things settle soon. ;)
Well I didn't want to use peoples' names - to protect the innocent and the insane.
Berocca is a vitamin type thing - dissolves in water and goes fizzy. Supposed to be good for hangovers and such like.
And last night I was home alone - the contrast was amazing.
oh my! As I've known of the Gman for several years now . . . this fills in some of the gaps. Wow!
Yep, same guy Shirl. He'd been telling me that she had lost the plot but I didn't believe him. For once, he was telling the truth.
