Michael Lee died last Tuesday, apparently from an epileptic seizure. He first came to my attention when he played with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant on the No Quarter/Unledded album and tour. He had previously worked with Robert Plant on his Fate Of Nations tour earlier in the 90s. As a result, Robert asked him to join the Unledded project. I saw Page and Plant in Melbourne in 1995 and have watched the video and, now, the DVD countless times. No-one can touch John Bonham as a drummer but I always thought that Michael Lee came close. He really did a great job. Michael Lee was buried today in Darlington, England. He was 39. Jimmy attended the funeral. Robert did not.

Jimmy looks a bit peaked in that shot.
